A Toronto photographer has captured the essence of Canadian taste. Here is a billboard for a local radio station.
I’m often boggled by radio (and other) advertising. There was a campaign in the Edmonton area regarding some kind of lottery: “It’s up to you how you spend the money” with a picture of a weird-looking loser somehow (I guess) livin’ large in his or her weirdo loser way. Huh?
I’ll never understand the innate hooliganism of this great nation. For commercial radio, I have no words.
Hork it down

No. Dude. Away with your regional rivalries! I live in Edmonton, remember? The town people like to say bad things about. And Vancouver? Same shite, different city.— Pam · 1516 days ago · #

we have different shite here in Thunder Bay. It's cuz we are closer to America land than anything else.— jaime · 1515 days ago · #

It's either veiled/non-veiled sexual jokes, or just un-funny redneck hillbilly here in Edmonton. "Celebrating 25 Big Ones" - 97 K-Rock. "See... they're nuts!" - also K-Rock http://www.k-rock973.com/freebies-wallpapers.html— Oorgo · 1515 days ago · #

In a fit of geographic weirdness, that shot looks like it's taken on 97th St in Edmonton, heading out of Chinatown.— Darren · 1515 days ago · #

See above, under "Same shit, different city." All Canadian cities are the same.— Pam · 1514 days ago · #

gotta say it reminds me of the grossness of the Larry and Willie ads on buses here in Vancouver a while back, naked, butt-ugly dj on a bus, just tasteless crap, but I gues it gets attention - I still remember the ad, don't I— Jen · 1508 days ago · #

Let's just say that radio is not a very visual medium, so when they finally get access to visual media they sort of go to town in a freakishly primitive way.— Pam · 1507 days ago · #
